I am a member - My experience as a patient

My Name is Reem Raafat. I am 17 years old, and I study in the faculty of commerce, Helwan University. I knew that I suffer from MS after I had done a brain MRI. I started suffering from all the symptoms of the disease. However, the psychological impact of the disease on me was much bigger that the physical one. The hardest struggle I had was when in secondary school and I had difficulty in studying because of the symptoms of the MS. I got familiar with MS Care Society through one of the directors of the association, and they helped me a lot by:

  •  Providing me with two free siring per month.
  •  Being by my side during my exams which I passed and I was able to join the college, and now I am able to get my treatment free of charge, on the expense of the government for students.
  •  Attending seminars to know more about MS and how to deal with it.

These seminars helped me and other members understand the nature of this disease in order to be able to live with it. MS Care Society became one of the most important things in my life. I met there a lot of people who became now my close friends and helped me getting over all these difficulties.
